SO MANY PIGS at the Mipig Cafe • Kyoto, Japan

We met SO MANY PIGS at the Mipig Cafe in Kyoto, Japan! But please remember to do your research whenever you're going to ANY animal based attraction. The Mipig Cafe was not only a wonderful place, they also clearly treat their pigs with love and compassion, and they never forced them to do anything they didn't want to do.

Unfortunately animal cafes aren't all created equal, and it's up to us to support responsible businesses who treat their animals humanely and with compassion.

The Mipig pigs are bred to be pets, and the visitor sessions are part of their socialization training. If the pigs ever appear tired or stressed, they are moved to a separate area away from the group so they could feel safe. Each pig is closely monitored by the staff, and they're given regular breaks depending on the disposition and temperament of each pig.
